To get me in the mood for the upcoming vampire extravaganza, I decided to pull out "Interview With The Vampire" by Anne Rice. I had never read it but the paperback was a-mouldering on my shelf. It was a good read. The angst of the title vampire Louis reminded me of Reverend Russell in his reluctance to submit to the fundamentally evil nature of being a vampire. It's got me thinking about hitting Half-Price for the next one.

Anybody else reading some bloodsucking material in antici...(say it)...pation?

Liked the first one, liked the second one a little better. Third one bored me and I didn't finish.

Never read any more of her stuff. Fairly or unfairly, I found her to be a one-note samba.

"Cry to Heaven" wasn't bad. . . good historical fiction set in Venice, Italy.  One of Rice's.

Half-Price on Broadway didn't have "The Vampire Lestat" although they had plenty of others. So I didn't buy any vampire books, I got "Gravity's Rainbow" instead.

I read Lestat first and then I read Interview and just hated Louis, never read the third.
