She had that
Camarillo brillo
Flamin out along her head,
I mean her mendocino bean-o
By where some bugs had made it red

That is all.

Did she have a snake for a pet? An amulet? Was she breeding a dwarf but she wasn't done yet?

I echo Brands thoughts (shivers uncomfortably), I too think leaving the kids here in the tower is bad juju, esp. since I cant undo the stoning.

We should bring them with us.  One never knows how scarce the food can become.

Unfortunately our mistake was bring the kids with us before we had completely secured our path or even knew where we were going. The damage is done. We have already put them in peril. We just have to make the best of it now.

We have made no mistakes.  All of the children are still alive, no one has been turned to stone, and everyone is healthy.  Our mission is to recover the weapons for the elemental gods, and that is what we are doing.  Saving these kids is just a bonus--like good karma.  Maybe if we accrue enough of it, the blue fairy will give the dwarf a soul.

all canibalism aside, I think that 3 human shields per party member would be sufficient.

I find Woodhope's fear a little ironic considering I cautioned against bringing ANYONE through the gate until we were sure it would be safe.  But NOOOO, he wanted to run up the steppes we found just past the gate with that raving lunatic of a barbarian were with.

Putting ourselves in danger is reasonable...we're professionals. The kids and monks are civilians.

Reading my previous post, or your quotation of it, you should see that endangering civilians is exactly what I was cautioning against.
