THE MIGHTY HIN (Sung to the tune of "The Mighty Quinn" as performed by Bob Dylan, Manfred Mann, the Hollies and Velsharoon knows who else)

Ev’rybody’s filking
The bad songs and the jokes
Some are writing hip hop tunes
Others jotting down folk
Ev’rybody’s trying to keep it fresh
Ev’ry girl and boy
But when Hin the Little Rogue gets here
Ev’rybody’s gonna jump for joy
Come all without, come all within
You’ll not see filking like the mighty Hin’s

I like to do just like the rest
Rhyming with the geeks
But coming up with something fresh
Is hard week after week
Ev’rybody’s scratching their head
Finding lyrics to rewrite
But when Hin the Little Rogue gets here
All the lyrics gonna come out right
Come all without, come all within
You’ll not see filking like the mighty Hin’s

"Dungeon Fever" and “New Kind of Sick”
I can recite ’em all
It's just getting harder to top oneself
And keep staying on the ball
Everybody’s run out of songs
They’re mining stuff nobody’s heard
But when Hin the Little Rogue gets here
They’re gonna hang on his every word
Come all without, come all within
You’ll not see filking like the mighty Hin’s

There are so many little dyings that it doesn't matter which of them is death.

FILKING FOR X.P. (Sung to the tune of “Running on Empty” by Jackson Browne. I know I recently outed myself as a Steely Dan fan, but in no way does this filk mean that I enjoy the music of Jackson Browne.)

Looking out at the dusty screen sitting in front of me
Looking up some words in my trusty old dictionary
3:35, I was on the clock and bored out of my mind
I know why I’m filking now, and it’s not just to unwind

Filking for, filking for x.p.
Filking for, filking tunes
Filking for, filking to level up
‘Cause I'm a filking buffoon

Got to do what I can just to level up and catch my breath
Trying not to reuse songs that are already done to death
4:45, I had just one verse and no chorus to call my own
I don't know if I can finish this before time to go home

Filking for, filking for x.p.
Filking for, filking tunes
Filking for, filking to level up
‘Cause I'm a filking buffoon

Every song I post, everyone I roast
People want the songs to roll along
I know it’s hurt my sanity
If it takes all day, that’ll be OK
If I can get Ryan to bestow some x.p.

Looking out at the dusty screen sitting in front of me
Looking up some words in my trusty old dictionary
I scrap this stupid song, try to start all over again
Maybe something about the priest puking all over the hin

Filking for, filking for x.p.
Filking for, filking tunes
Filking for, filking to level up
‘Cause I'm a filking buffoon

DM, you really tempt me
You know you hold the key
Know I’ve got to filk
If I’m gonna land some more x.p.

Filking on
You know I don't even know if the DM will grin
Filking some more
Filking on company time to level again

Sanford Digs Some Browne  (to the tune of Thin Lizzy's "The Boys are Back in Town")

Guess who just came out today
That last filk gave his lame ass away
Not surprised that much, I say
Yeah, man I think we all saw it coming

'Fessed up to grooving to old Steely Dan
Loves them guitars on "The Royal Scam"
Now it turns out he's a big Jackson fan
Is that "Somebody's Baby" he's humming?

Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)
(I said) Sanford digs some Browne
Sanford digs some Browne
Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)
Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)

You know that chick from "Splash" that was so hot?
Every night she'd beat on Jackson, give that boy a swat
Maybe that's got Sanford's panties in a knot
He likes that BDSM

Who'd have thought at the Boxcar practice space
They're rockin' "Doctor My Eyes" right into your face
Then "Take it Easy" to bring down the pace
Got that radio dialed to the AM

Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)
(I said) Sanford digs some Browne
Sanford digs some Browne
Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)
Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)

Spread the word around
Guess who's down with Browne

Just spread the word around

Loves the guitar Jackson played
He had the skills, it's why he got paid
'Cept for the free gig he did at Farm Aid
And if Willie likes his ass, you'd better, too

If only a Jackson Browne show in SA would be backed
The whole Sunken Gardens Theater could be packed
If only Steely was the opening act
Sanford's best dream would come true

Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)
Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)
Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)
(Spread the word around)
Sanford digs some Browne (Sanford digs some Browne)
(Sanford digs, Sanford digs)

The boys are back in town again

They're hanging at the Garden

The boys are back in town again
